I worked for Harrisonburg City Public Schools for six years and have been at CodeRVA since it opened in 2017.

This will be my eighth year working in education. I come from a military family. I was born in California and after a couple moves, we settled in Virginia Beach, VA. I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University and love the city of Richmond. Before working at CodeRVA, I worked for Chesterfield County Public Schools for five years. When I am not at work, I enjoy hiking, traveling, eating, spending time with friends and family, and hanging out with my sweet goldendoodle, Teddy.
This is my second year as a School Counselor and I could not have picked a better place to start my new career! Prior to this I was a Special Education teacher and had the privilege of working with CodeRVA students during the 2018-2019 school year. I grew up in the Finger Lakes region of New York in a small town outside of Rochester called Sodus. I graduated from Wells College in Aurora, NY with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and from Syracuse University with a Master of Arts in Special Education. I then moved to Richmond to work for Richmond City Public Schools for 3 years. In 2016, I decided to move to Lynchburg, Virginia and pursue a degree in School Counseling, which eventually led to me working here. I look forward to starting another new school year with all of the amazing CodeRVA students and staff.

I have been a high school counselor for over 20 years. I graduated from SUNY Fredonia with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and then from the University at Buffalo with a Master’s Degree in School Counseling. I lived and worked in Palm Beach County, Florida, where I was a high school counselor for over 19 years, before moving to Virginia. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our dog, exercising, traveling back home to Buffalo to visit with my family, playing cards, and going out to eat.
